Description	This is a small bowed lute with the body and neck carved from one piece of wood. It has a slender oval shape. The back is flat, but the sound table, made of a separate piece of wood, is convex across the width. Two narrow slits are cut in the sound table on either side of the bridge. There are three thin wire strings, attached to heart-shaped pegs inserted from the front of the pegbox. The instrument is held vertically, resting on the knee. It is played with a bow. The bow is not actually curved, but made of a short, straight stick with horsehair attached. It is held palm-up, with the fingers holding the bowhairs taut.
