The REALIA Project published faculty-reviewed media for the teaching and study of modern languages and cultures and was an active project supported by the National Institute for
Technology in Liberal Education from 2001-2009. The focus of the REALIA Project is realia, i.e. visual materials which convey the everyday life of different cultures. College faculty and students were encouraged to contribute materials to the online database which included both English and vernacular titles and descriptions as well as the application of an innovative set of "realia type" descriptive tags.
