to be the biggest success ever Three rooms have been obtained inCurtis hall the dining room lounge and the downstairs recreation room There will be dancing in the two first floor rooms withmusic provided by an amplifying system and downstairs there will be bridge games table tennis and food Wesleyan Has One Too At Ohio Wesleyan the Gold Diggers dance is really the high sport of the year National conference of the College Arts Association of America to be held at Chicago January29Februarv 1 This association was organized in 1936 to promote an interest in the activities of fine art depart ments in liberal arts colleges Professor King is a charter men ber of the association which has called its first national meeting since reorganization last year Kino attended the regional conference in ColumbusSaturday January 18 The meeting was to establish the policy of themidwest group relative to thenational program of the association He is a member of the committeeorganizing the committee of the Denison Student Relief Drive has decided to divide the moneyreceived from the drive more than 1300 in three different groups Une third of the amount will go to Chinese students one third to European students and one third to American students However those pledges specifically marked will be taken out before thedivision is made This action was taken by the executive committee meeting Tuesday afternoon January 11 and was ratified by the Student Senate Wednesday evening Jan uary Id The money will be administer ed by the WSSM WorldStudent Service Fund whoseheadquarters are in New York City Through the assistance ofPresident Brown contacts were made with Ray Sweetman secretary of the organization and W illiam J Hutchins vicechairman These men assured the executivecommittee Wooster Womens Student Government Association to an AllOhio StudentGovernment Conference to be held at Denison from April 1920 First To Be Held The idea for this AllOhioConference originated with theDenison and Wooster delegates to an eastern convention on their way back from the conference They felt that an AllOhioConference would be very worthwhile because the invited colleges would all be of the Board ofControl for immediate distribution gestions the executivecommittee has adopted this threepart division The money for China and Europe will be allotted by the WSSF It will not be used for food for prisoners but for the purchase of educational supplies such as writing paper soap and pencils Almost half of the 40000 Chinese students are dependent on uotside aid The governmental Ministry of Education helps10000 and the National StudentRelief Committee aids 8500 It is reported in China that one dollar in gold is equivalent to 18 to 20 dollars in Chinese currency The money for Columbus February 20 and 21 The topics will be based on the following themes What is the basis of our Christian Faith How does one live in a Christian World What place has the church in this prosrram and What responsibilities does Chris tian Faith put upon the Christian student and the Christian faculty member today The Monday Wednesdav and Friday chapel services will be lengthened ten minutes Hold Late Forum A series of late forum groups or discussions will be held each afternoon during the week from 400 to 500 pm Forum leaders will be Dean Gilkey first two days Anson Stokes Wednesday and Ihurs day Jessie Eubank all week and Dr Fetter all week Along with rediscussions of the chapel ad dresses of that day there will be included a series of subjects Continued on page 3 Change Skit Scrap Date Revision of Rules Eliminates Womens Groups From Contest Second annual Skit Scraps sponsored by Blue Key junior mens honorary has been changed from March 15 to March 22 ac cording to Fritz Turnbull Mil waukee president A permanent cup will be given to the organization which pre sents the best original skit The rules have also been changed to include only entries from the fra ternities rather than entries from both men and womens groups Turnbull said busy week Even at this writing we are caring for 31 students in the hospital and 23 in the dirfer ent dorms but all are getting along nicely All students wher ever confined were visited daily by either my nurses or me It was really a rehet from monotony of caring for flu to have a bad burn case come in closelyfollowed by a boy who tried to go through a glass door without first opening it a tonsillitis case or two an abscessed ear and the ordinary run of student illnesses and injuries If the fine donors of our hos pital could have seen our trans formed living room our hall cots and makeshift beside tables our miscellaneous dining equipment and our busy corps of nurses cooks and attendants they might have felt the present Denisons Winter Carnival for 1941 wilt begin Saturday at 10 00 am Shaw hall according to Maryline White Bloomfield Hills Mich Winter Carnival commit lee chairman The Annual Win ter Carnival is sponsored byOuting club Queen of the Winter Carnival will be elected ThursdayFebruary 8 in mens chapel from selections of girls from eachsorority The result of the ballots will denote the Queen and her attendants all three of which will preside at the days skiing and skating events Each Group Makes Snow Molds In the early evening snow molds constructed by each social group on the campus will be judged by a faculty committee of three The Winter Carnival Dance will begin at 800 pm in the Womens Gym A grand march headed by the Queen of the Carnival and her escort will be one of the main features of the evening Winners of t h e days events will be announced at that time and prizes will be awarded for the wining snow molds Skiing Opens Carnival The skiing events will start the Carnival Denisons Winter Carnival for 1941 wilt begin Saturday at 10 00 am Shaw hall according to Maryline White Bloomfield Hills Mich Winter Carnival commit lee chairman The Annual Win ter Carnival is sponsored byOuting club Queen of the Winter Carnival will be elected ThursdayFebruary 8 in mens chapel from selections of girls from eachsorority The result of the ballots will denote the Queen and her attendants all three of which will preside at the days skiing and skating events Each Group Makes Snow Molds In the early evening snow molds constructed by each social group on the campus will be judged by a faculty committee of three The Winter Carnival Dance will begin at 800 pm in the Womens Gym A grand march headed by the Queen of the Carnival and her escort will be one of the main features of the evening Winners of t h e days events will be announced at that time and prizes will be awarded for the wining snow molds Skiing Opens Carnival The skiing events will start the Carnival
